MedCare, formerly Columbus Emergency Center, was the first “Urgent Care” Center in Columbus, Georgia, beginning in 1982. Our Urgent Care Center has been providing comprehensive, quality care to the community and surrounding areas of Columbus, Georgia for the past 35 years.

Dr. Andrew T. Mecca is a Board Certified Family Physician providing a highly professional service with a caring and compassionate approach. He takes his responsibilities very seriously and knows MedCare is often your first step to getting well. Dr. Mecca has more than 25 years’ experience providing quality inpatient and outpatient care. Dr. Mecca’s motto has always been “patients first.” The needs of the patient will always come first at MedCare. He treats his patients, including their families and friends, with dignity and sensitivity.
Urgent Care
MedCare providers treat illnesses and injuries, ranging from colds and coughs, to stitches and fractures. Our Urgent Care center also has digital x-ray imaging, wound stitching, and lab services on-site. MedCare provides an efficient, more affordable alternative to the emergency room. We provide treatment for conditions that require prompt attention, but are not life-threatening.
