Dr. Andrew T. Mecca brings over 35 years of medical expertise to MedCare, where he has built a legacy of compassionate, patient-centered care. A graduate of LeMoyne College and SUNY Upstate Medical College, Dr. Mecca is board-certified in Family Medicine and Internal Medicine. His career has been defined by his commitment to treating patients as individuals, ensuring each one receives attentive, personalized care.

A Legacy at MedCare
After completing his Family Practice residency, Dr. Mecca moved from New York to Columbus, GA, in 1993 to work as an Urgent Care physician at MedCare, then known as Columbus Emergency Center. His career at MedCare evolved as he joined Columbus Regional Healthcare as a Family Physician in 1998.
When Columbus Regional disbanded its Family Practice Program in 2001, Dr. Mecca continued to serve the Columbus community through the Georgia State Health Department from 2001-2002. In 2002, he returned to his roots, purchasing MedCare from his former employer. Dr. Mecca established his own Family Practice within the facility while continuing to operate the Urgent Care center.
For the past 23 years, Dr. Mecca has successfully operated both Family Practice and Urgent Care at MedCare, creating a trusted healthcare hub for patients across the community.
Philosophy of Care
Dr. Mecca believes in building meaningful relationships with his patients, empowering them to make informed decisions about their health, and fostering a partnership in care. He is dedicated to providing comprehensive, high-quality medical services that address the unique needs of every individual.
Outside the office, Dr. Mecca enjoys spending time with his family, staying active, and giving back to the Columbus community.
